African Research Academies for Women (ARA-W) connects undergraduate scholars with rigorous research experiences, mentorship, and professional growth—centered on partnerships such as the Noguchi Medical Research Institute and a growing global alumni network.

Summer research & lab immersion

Scholars join host laboratories for hands-on projects in STEM, building skills in inquiry, data, and scientific communication. Programming emphasizes ethical research practice and collaboration with mentors at institutions in Ghana and beyond.

Open Community

Scholarships & access support

ARA-W works to reduce financial barriers to participation where resources allow, including stipends and travel support tied to program cycles. Availability varies by cohort; applicants receive details when programs open.
